PURAVERA´s Photo Contest commemorating the World Responsible Tourism Day 2010.

PURAVERA has been recognized and given authorization to use the World Travel Market – World Responsible Tourism Day 2010 Logo.

Our initiative to promote this day and to grow / Increase conscious about responsible tourism is a Photographic contest on the subject responsible tourism. We will use Facebook page twitter, youtube and other web 2.0 social networks to promote this event and to create awareness on this issue. In the following days we will be posting the event which will have as a prize weekend accommodation in the shire “Comarca de la Vera” from our booking / reservation center and an additional natural or cultural activity which can be selected from our different services! Also a special prize will be given to the best picture which exemplifies responsible tourism in the shire of La Vera and this will be our facebook image for the rest of the year.

We hope there is a large participation and cooperation and that we communicate and promote responsible tourism trends and behavior in order to develop our community in a sustainable manner.

PURAVERA Member of the ATTA.

 I would like to share with the community that PURAVERA just join the ATTA - Adventure Travel Trade Association, organizers of the International Summit on Sustainable Adventure Tourism. Organization that brings together over 600 experts, central reservation/ bookings, tour operators, tourist trade journalists with a focus to natural, cultural heritage and sustainability. With this partnership we intend to publicize the region shire of La Vera and position on the international scene as a rural tourism destination.

Best project in sustainable adventure leisure

The awards “Ser Joven y Vivir en Extremadura” “Young and living in Extremadura” were given by Fernadez Vara president of the Junta de Extremadura to promote the entrepreneurship.

President of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernandéz Vara, gave in Mérida the awards “Ser Joven y Vivir en Extremadura” “Young and living in Extremadura”. The president gave emphasis that this recognition puts in value the Young entrepreneurs that take risks. He focused on the idea that not only there has to be more initiatives like these but that the institutions must also promote this entrepreneurship in order to develop the region.

“Territorio 10”

The awards arise from an initiative Territorio 10 promoted by the “Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven” and the Rural Network “ Red Extremeña de Desarrollo Rural” in an attempt to develop the rural areas of Extremadura.
Finally 25 projects of more than 200 reach the final oral interviews of which 13 were finally selected. One first prize, 4 second prizes, 5 third prizes. The special mention of the jury was given to PURAVERA for the Best project in sustainable adventure leisure, while the most implicated local action group was for Fedesiba, and other special mention to Teodovino project.

In the closing ceremony of Territorio 10 and during the awards, the jurys present include President of the Junta de Extremadura, the Young and Sports Adviser, Carlos Javier Rodríguez Jiménez, the CEO of the Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven, Juan Pablo Venero and the President of REDEX, Aurelio García Bermúdez, among others.

We are going to the World Summit 2010 held in Scotland this year and it is our objective to network with tour-operators, media, travel agents, other destinations and any other colleague in order to promote and position the region of “La Comarca de la Vera” as a responsible destination. Official opening of PURAVERA

PURAVERA is a company that specializes in the creation, management and exploitation of responsible rural tourism projects and has a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility as expressed in its code of conduct and policies. It also promotes the local capacities and training through local development projects always with a sustainable approach. 

We have experience in tourism promotion, development of corporate sustainability strategies, establishment of tourism enterprises and additional services, travel arrangements, training and seminars, cultural and sports events with a tourism-focus, web 2.0 technologies, among others. 

The team has experts in sustainability and rural tourism, along with a network of partners who advise at all stages of the project. In this sense we can offer our clients services Bioclimatic and ecological architecture, consulting, interior designers, economists, suppliers of clean energy (solar, wind and hydro), experts in grants and administrative procedures, as well as professional marketing and communication among others. 

After a long research / survey through the Spanish territory and even some Latin American countries, PURAVERA decides to establish in the region of “Comarca de La Vera” as its the most suitable region to develop our activity. We reside in Jarandilla de La Vera and have been making a number of increasing investments since the beginning of 2008 as the projects have been developing

Hello to everyone!!

The idea of setting this space in Internet has come about form friends and work colleges who are using these spaces/areas to publish their articles or views on different issues and comment on them and give feedback.

My motivation is the growing need to develop sustainable conscious in the world we live today. With this blog I will try to make my little contribution to this issue. I believe that the way to achieve sustainable development starts by creating an attitude on the people who live on earth.

Every day we become more aware of the problems and the growing differences in the different parts of the world. We must understand that in order to survive individually we must ensure the sustainability of the whole community.

This is just my introductory commentary, I will try to upload articles and my views on sustainability issues, some of the topics will include Social Responsibility, sustainable tourism, renewable energies or eco efficiency among others…
